- Try to use your treated muscles for the first several hours after treatment (e.g., frown, squint, raise eyebrows). The action may help work the treatment into your muscles. Although this may help your procedure outcome, it will NOT impact your treatment negatively if you forget to do this.
- Do not have a facial, nor rub or massage the treated area for 24 hours after treatment. If you are applying cosmetics or sunscreen, gently work up and out from the eyes.
- Do not lie on your face, bend upside down or do strenuous exercise for the next several hours after treatment. We recommend AVOIDING massages, yoga, facials, chiropractor, or any other action, which may put pressure on your face. If you are wiping sweat, pat gently up and out from the eyes.
- Please be aware that some, though very few patients, experience a mild headache. You may take Tylenol or Ibuprofen to help with this for pain relief.
- If you have any tiny bumps or marks in the treated area, they will go away within a few hours after your treatment. There is a very small risk of bruising.
The effect of the Botox, Dysport, Jeuveau, or Xeomin will slowly start to work over 2-3 days. The final outcome will not be visible until 1-2 weeks after your treatment. We recommend waiting 1-2 weeks to correct any slight eyebrow raise or asymmetry because overcorrection could occur.
COMBINING PROCEDURES:
Fillers, chemical peels, and Oxygeneo Superfacial can be combined with Botox or other neuromodulator treatment. Some laser treatment can be combined, if performed in a separate location on the face or if approved by a Pure Dermatology physician. Micro needling may be preformed 1 week before injections or, at least, 1 day after. Micro needling may not be combined with Botox or other neuromodulator treatment on the same day. Please let our office know if you are planning multiple procedures so we can make sure you are booked properly.
PREGNANCY: We do not inject pregnant patients using these treatments. Please cancel your appointment if you believe you may be pregnant.
BREASTFEEDING: If you can pump and discard (“pump and dump”) milk for 24 hours after your treatment visit, then you are eligible to have treatment.
