Excel V at Pure Dermatology

Excel V combines two powerful and precise lasers to target and eliminate lesions that are red, brown, blue, and purple. It has sapphire contact cooling to keep skin safe before, during, and after each pulse. This laser by Cutera is the most powerful laser available to treat broken blood vessels on the face and body and to treat leg veins. It is indicated to treat all skin types.

The versatility of the Excel V allows our providers to tailor treatments to each patient. The clear window through which the laser energy is delivered allows for real-time evaluation of patient response so that the settings can be adjusted for maximal response. Dr. Holcomb and Dr. Haseltine at Pure Dermatology have experience using the Excel V in all skin types and ethnicities.

Excel V is a very safe and effective procedure that may be used to improve the following skin conditions:

  • Rosacea
  • Diffuse redness (red face)
  • Bruising seen after fillers, surgery, or injury
  • Scars
  • Poikiloderma (sun damage)
  • Blue veins under or around eyes
  • Acne
  • Acne scarring
  • Large pores
  • Folliculitis or hair bumps
  • Melasma (in specific cases)
  • Pigmented brown lesions or brown spots
  • Laser hair removal in dark skin types
  • Spider veins
  • Stretch marks (early red color)
  • Leg Veins
  • Cherry angiomas (hemangiomas)

The results and recovery will depend on the settings chosen by our board-certified dermatologists who direct settings for every treatment. Swelling and darkening can occur so it is important to discuss your limitations before treatment. The Cutera skin laser does not compromise the skin so you can put on makeup or sunscreen immediately after treatment.
